1. Adams bashes Cuomo on handling of COVID

Mayor Eric Adams delivered his most pointed criticisms yet of ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo amid the mayoral race.

“He incorrectly handled the nursing home issue. I think those family members are right," he said Monday about Cuomo’s handling of the COVID pandemic in the city. “There was [a] racial disparity in how he even dealt with vaccines. Black and brown communities were not being fairly vaccinated. We were not giving out face masks to NYCHA residents. Many of our nurses and hospitals didn’t have PPEs as they were deserved.”

2. A look inside Creedmoor, as the state seeks to expand involuntary commitments

The Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in Queens is a state-run psychiatric hospital that often sees some of the city's most complex cases.

At the center, New Yorkers with serious mental illnesses are locked in for treatment — getting some fresh air and time outside once a day.

NY1 received an exclusive tour with the center's executive director and the state mental health commissioner, getting a firsthand look at a new unit.

3. MTA responds to U.S. transportation secretary: Subway crime down, congestion toll revenue up

MTA board members seemed baffled as to what U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said Saturday when he visited a sinkhole in New Jersey.

“In 36 hours, she could clean up the subways, could be a nonissue,” Duffy said of Gov. Kathy Hochul. “Send law enforcement in, kick out the homeless, get rid of the drugs, cops on the beat making sure there is no violence, make sure people aren’t afraid of getting stabbed, pushed into a train. This isn’t hard.”
