1. Mayor calls rivals 'Eric-like' on affordability, public safety

Mayor Eric Adams rallied on Monday with union workers at City Hall to promote his plan to eliminate the city’s income tax for low-income New Yorkers. It’s an idea that landed in the policy book of his biggest rival for re-election, Andrew Cuomo.

Adams says his opponents want to be more like him, but he worries he's unable to rally voters to his side while his corruption case remains open.

2. MTA meets deadline to share subway crime stats with Trump administration

The MTA met its deadline Monday to submit information on subway crime - and the steps that it's taking to combat it - to the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The submission came in response to a March 18 letter Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy sent the agency requesting that information and suggesting that noncompliance could result in "redirecting or withholding funding."
