Bringing the flavors of the eastern Mediterranean to the heart of Manhattan, Iris, a Mediterranean restaurant in Midtown, took the spotlight on "Mornings On 1” Friday for another installment of “Tasting New York City.”
The eatery serves up a fusion of Greek and Turkish cuisine crafted by chef John Fraser.
Iris, which landed a spot on The New York Times’ list of best restaurants in the city this year, has been described as being able to transport diners from the streets of Manhattan to the shores of the Aegean. It also presents an intimate dining experience with mostly small plates being among its offerings.
Fraser is also committed to supporting restaurant workers with a program he launched this year, Industry Table, which allows restaurant workers to dine at participating restaurants anytime at cost. The program is also partnering with the NYC Wine and Food Festival this October.
