Chef Ayesha Nurdjaja, the culinary mastermind behind Shukette in Chelsea, said her restaurant being listed on The New York Times’ list of 100 best restaurants in the city has been “a blessing.”
During an interview with “Mornings On 1” Friday, Nurdjaja said “it was a glorious day” when she found out her restaurant, which serves Middle Eastern cuisine, was named on the list.
In his review of the restaurant, New York Times critic Pete Wells particularly highlighted Shukette’s use of a charcoal grill to create unique flavor profiles, and Nurdjaja’s careful attention to the use of fresh herbs and vegetables.
Tune in next Friday morning on NY1 when another restaurant from the Times' list will be featured.
