MTA riders are most satisfied with the L, G, Q and 7 lines, a new bi-annual survey released by the MTA on Monday found.
The agency said the survey gathered feedback from riders’ customer experience across the New York City Transit, Metro-North Railroad and the Long Island Rail Road, resulting in more than 268,000 responses.
“We take feedback seriously and want all our customers to feel confident that they will experience reliable and safe service every time they take subways and buses,” New York City Transit President Richard Davey said in a release. “We are thrilled more people are returning to ride and are looking forward to learning from their continuing feedback.”
The survey ranked satisfaction rates for the city’s subway system at 48%. Riders who took part in it said that their top concerns are safety and security in the subway.
“New Yorkers are letting us know what they like and what they feel needs work, and we appreciate their participation by taking the survey,” MTA Acting Chief Customer Officer Shanifah Rieara said. We will do everything we can to make our customers feel most comfortable whether they are using the subway, buses, and the commuter rails.”
The LIRR and Metro-North fared much better. The survey revealed a satisfaction rate of over 80%, where service reliability and seat availability were the passengers’ major concerns.
