The Sergeants Benevolent Association, a union representing some 13,000 active and retired NYPD sergeants, has been calling on Mayor Eric Adams to work out a new labor contract that the union says will help reduce the pay gap among sergeants and the rank-and-file officers they oversee.
A spokesperson for Adams said the city has “continued to bargain in good faith” with the union.
Vincent Vallelong, the president of the Sergeants Benevolent Association, joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Thursday to talk about the ongoing fight over pay disparity.
