Mayor Eric Adams held his first briefing at City Hall with reporters since the Justice Department moved to drop corruption charges against him.

The mayor maintained that he's not worried about governing the city and answered questions about how he plans to fill out his administration after four deputy mayors announced their departures.

But there have been growing calls from lawmakers for him to step down.

The Rev. Al Sharpton joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on "Inside City Hall" Monday to discuss further.

Last week, Gov. Kathy Hochul ruled out the possibility of removing the mayor "at this time." After meeting with city leaders, she proposed oversight guardrails for Adams.

"I do not think that we need to step on the powers of the mayor unless the mayor is proven unfit. So I think, again, a man is innocent until proven guilty," he said. "I am concerned that the president used this leash that he's put around the neck of the city of New York and the mayor to do things that we do need guardrails."
