Monday marked the first day of City Council hearings over the Adams administration’s cornerstone housing plan, otherwise known as the “City of Yes.”

Those leading the plan, including Dan Garodnick, the director of the Department of City Planning, testified.

The public will get a chance to weigh in Tuesday.

The goal of the proposal is to build 108,000 new homes over the next 15 years.

The city plans to do this by changing zoning regulations, eliminating parking mandates and promoting transit-oriented development, among other things.

Rachel Fee, the executive director of the New York Housing Conference, and Annemarie Gray, the executive director of Open New York and previously served in city government, including as senior adviser on land use in the mayor’s office, joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Monday to discuss more.
