As Mayor Eric Adams faces growing calls to step down, one of his longtime supporters, Assemblywoman Jenifer Rajkumar, joined Ayana Harry on “Inside City Hall” to talk about the moment of crisis that Adams is in. She expressed concerns about the meetings that Gov. Kathy Hochul led Tuesday, saying lawmakers should be focusing their energy on issues like homeless.
“What I hope is that we all get back to the issues that matter,” she told Harry.
Rajkumar said voters should be deciding who is mayor at the ballot box in June. But when pressed on supporting the mayor running for reelection, Rajkumar said, “I have not ruled out any endorsements for the 2025 cycle, so I’ll circle back with you on that question,” she said. “I’ll be carefully evaluating every candidate and seeing who can truly lead for New Yorkers.”
