QUEENS, N.Y. - An officer with the New York City Police Department could spend 15 years in prison after being arrested on charges he acted as a lookout during drug transactions.
Prosecutors say Ishmael Bailey was off-duty when he provided security on two occasions, as several kilos of cocaine were moved between locations in Queens.
They also say he was paid several thousand dollars.
Bailey was caught after meeting with an undercover cop he believed was a drug dealer.
Bailey is a 12-year veteran of the force and member of the NYPD football team.
His bail was set at $50,000 and he's due back in court October 3.
