Ten people were hurt in Manhattan Tuesday after a driver in a stolen vehicle attempted to escape from police custody, NYPD officials said.

All victims were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police were alerted of a driver with a stolen 2018 Hyundai Tucson at about 5 p.m. on Second Avenue and East 45th Street, officials said.

Officers followed the vehicle to East 43rd Street and Third Avenue, where they attempted to detain the driver.

Police said the 20-year-old male driver initially pulled over as officers followed behind, but he made his way back onto traffic on Lexington Avenue and East 43rd Street where he struck a cyclist.

The man continued to the northeast corner of Lexington Avenue and East 42nd Street, where he struck a cab driver operating a yellow 2016 Nissan.

The driver of the stolen vehicle then jumped the curb of a sidewalk, striking several pedestrians before making a U-turn, and driving the wrong way onto incoming traffic on Lexington Avenue, police said.

The vehicle collided with another driver operating a black 2011 Toyota RAV-4 before the driver was detained by police.

The NYPD says the stolen vehicle, which had an Illinois license plate, was reported stolen a day before in the Bronx.

Police say the incident does not appear to have any connection to terrorist activity.

Charges against the driver are pending, police said. Authorities are still looking for a woman who was riding in the Tucson and ran away after the crash.
