Local kids put on their dancing shoes in Fort Greene, Brooklyn Sunday.
The Brooklyn Nets invited boys and girls ages six to thirteen to show off their moves for a chance to join the Nets Kids Dance Team.
Dancers auditioning were asked to demonstrate their ability to learn and perform choreography.
It was an exciting opportunity for both the Nets and the hopeful dancers.
A returning dance team alum had this advice for first timers.
"You have to really express yourself and, when your dancing, even if you do mess up the dance it's not really about that; it's about how you and other kids look as a team and how you're having fun," the young dancer said.
More than 400 kids turned out to audition for 18 coveted spots on the team.
