As Eric Adams prepares to take office and New York City gets ready to enter a new era, Errol looked back at how much the city has transformed, with Thomas Dyja, the author of “New York, New York, New York,” a recent book that explores the last 40 years of the city’s political and cultural history.

Dyja discussed the different visions previous mayors had for the five boroughs and how City Hall has changed its approach in addressing needs of New Yorkers. He discussed the transformation of the city, from public spaces to public safety, and he weighed in on Mayor de Blasio’s fight for equity.
