A travel advisory is in effect for the city as a pre-holiday storm soaks the five boroughs.
Rain that moved in Tuesday afternoon will continue through the evening, and there could be flash flooding overnight on roads and highways.
While the wet weather is expected to clear quickly Wednesday morning, it could impact flights in and out of the city Tuesday night.
The worst of the storm will happen overnight, with wind gusts of over 30 mph expected. Parts of the five boroughs could see up to 2 inches of rain.

A coastal flood advisory is also in effect for the city overnight, with minor but widespread coastal flooding likely in the Rockaways and Broad Channel.
At a press conference on Tuesday, Mayor Eric Adams advised New Yorkers to “wear extra layers” and move about the city with caution.
“Last night, we had a Code Blue in effect,” Adams said, referring to an emergency notice the city issues when the temperature drops to 32 degrees or below. “That expired at 8 a.m. this morning, but will be in effect again tonight if the temperature drops below 32 degrees.”
New Yorkers can sign up for Notify NYC alerts to receive weather-related notifications, the mayor said.
