Nate Harrington is a meteorologist for the Spectrum News National Weather Team. North Carolina's amazing mountains, beautiful beaches, and of course, challenging weather, made him jump at the chance to join the team in December 2020.

Nate graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Meteorology and hit the ground running, landing his first job in southern Minnesota. From there, he went back down to the Florida Panhandle to work in Tallahassee. Nate was later a chief meteorologist in Dothan, AL before heading up the road to Birmingham. In his 14-year career, he's covered it all, from blizzards to hurricanes, chasing tornadoes, and covering crippling ice storms. He’s happy to call central North Carolina home and to forecast all its wild weather.

Outside of work, Nate, his wife Madison, and his daughter Evelyn love exploring the restaurants and parks that make North Carolina such a great place to live. He enjoys all kinds of sports and is an avid CrossFitter.

Make sure to drop Nate a line if you have some interesting weather to share or just want to send along a beautiful sunset picture.
