We made it. It is officially spring. Following a weekend filled with St. Patrick's Day events, we're looking at all the early springtime activities happening around the state.
Don't say his name three times. Beetlejuice the Musical is performing at the Durham Performing Arts Center through Sunday.
"Based on Tim Burton’s dearly beloved film, this hilarious musical tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose whole life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and a demon with a thing for stripes," the site states. "I’s a remarkably touching show about family, love, and making the most of every Day-O!"
The show is not recommended for those under age 13.

A 100-mile run, anyone? The Blackbeard's Revenge 100 will test runners from the Outer Banks area and beyond this weekend. The track covers a 100-mile coastal course.
Athletes will head from the northern beaches of the Outer Banks to the southern tip of Hatteras Island.
There's also a 100-mile relay and a 100-kilometer option for runners.
It's happening Saturday and Sunday.
The race starts at Jennette’s Pier, at 7223 S. Virginia Dare Trail in Nags Head, N.C. and ends at The Wreck Tiki Bar, at 58848 Marina Way A-4 in Hatteras, N.C.
Asheville Fringe Arts Festival
Experience boundary-pushing art at the Asheville Fringe Arts Festival.
There will be more than 50 original performances by artists from Asheville and beyond at some favorite local spots.
"The Asheville Fringe Society is dedicated to cultivating strange and wonderful work that lies outside the mainstream. The Asheville Fringe Arts Festival provides artists with opportunities to explore the edges of their work, to collaborate across genres and to bring new and innovative performances to culturally adventurous audiences," event organizers said.

Motorco Parts & Labor Shrimp Boil
Nothing says spring like a shrimp boil. Head to Motorco in Durham to chow down on a pound of shrimp with potatoes and corn on the cob. It's happening Saturday at noon and 2 p.m.

Mid-Atlantic Hunting & Fishing Expo
If you're a hunter, a fisher, or are looking to take up one the hobbies, this one is for you. The Mid-Atlantic Hunting and Fishing Expo is happening this weekend at the Greenville Convention Center in Greenville, N.C.
You'll find top hunting and fishing gear, seminars and activities at the expo, including an indoor mountain trout fishing pond where kids under age 15 can win prizes.
"A number of fish will be tagged with prizes going to the lucky angler," event organizers said.
The show runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Restaurants across Cabarrus County have their best burgers ready for you to try, in hopes of getting your vote.
Cabarrus Burger Madness returned several weeks ago for a month-long celebration.
The contest features 20 restaurants. "This friendly, bragging-rights competition showcases the culinary creativity of our chefs and gives diners exciting new dishes to try," event organizers said.
The first round of the NCAA tournament started Thursday, and North Carolina has nine teams eyeing national championships.
