B train service resumed with delays in both directions Tuesday afternoon, hours after it was suspended due to a switch problem at the 135th Street station in Manhattan, the MTA said.

The issue temporarily led to delays along the A, C and D train lines as well, but regular service had resumed as of mid-afternoon.

Earlier in the afternoon, when B train delays were more severe, the MTA advised straphangers to take 1 trains in upper Manhattan, F and M trains in Midtown and lower Manhattan, Q trains in Brooklyn or local buses as alternatives.
