A person was struck and killed by a train in Queens Tuesday morning, police said, temporarily disrupting subway service along the 7 line.
Service was disrupted just after 7 a.m. as emergency personnel responded to reports of someone struck by a train near the 69th Street Station in Woodside, Queens, the MTA said.
Police said a person was found under a train along the line around 7 a.m. A preliminary investigation found that the person jumped in front of the train, the NYPD said.
The person was pronounced dead just after 7 a.m., according to police. The NYPD said no criminality was suspected.
At 9:40 a.m., the MTA said the 7 line would not provide express service during the morning rush hour, to provide additional local service as the agency worked to get trains back on schedule.
Service has since resumed without delays, according to the MTA.
