New Yorkers looking to lace up their skates have reason to rejoice: A new ice skating rink in Brooklyn has opened to the public.

Located at the Emily Warren Roebling Plaza in Brooklyn Bridge Park, the new ice skating rink will remain open through March 1, 2024.

"Ice skating beside the Brooklyn Bridge has been part of the plan since before park construction began in 2008, and we’re thrilled to see this coming to life, providing long awaited winter recreation against a beautiful and historic backdrop,” Eric Landau, president of the Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation, said in a statement.

General admission to the rink starts at $15 for adults and $10 for children from Monday through Thursday. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, prices rise to $25 for adults and $12 for children.

For some New York City residents, however, those prices will be lower. A limited number of discounted tickets will be available daily for New York City residents who can show proof of residency through an IDNYC, New York City public library card, or drivers’ license.

Skate rentals will cost an additional $12.

Glide at Brooklyn Bridge Park recommends guests purchase tickets online and arrive 30 minutes prior to their skating session; however, tickets are also available in person.

Skate sessions are 50 minutes long and begin at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m, 1:15 p.m., 2:15 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 5:45 p.m., 6:45 p.m., 7:55 p.m. and 8:55 p.m.
