A man died after another man pushed him onto the tracks at an Upper West Side subway station early Friday morning, the NYPD said.
The 34-year-old victim was on the southbound 1, 2 and 3 train platform at the 96th Street station around 2 a.m. when a 28-year-old man shoved him onto the tracks, police said.
The shove happened after the two men got into an argument, sources told NY1.
The incident left the man with a cut to his head, according to police. He was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside, where he was pronounced dead, the NYPD said.
The 28-year-old was taken into custody after the attack, police said. Charges against him were pending as of Friday afternoon.
Police didn't immediately release the victim's name. An investigation is ongoing.
