A second Amazon warehouse on Staten Island will have a union election next month — where approximately another 1,500 employees will get to decide whether they want to be represented by the Amazon Labor Union.

The National Labor Relations Board confirmed on Friday that Amazon and union organizers reached an agreement to hold an election at the warehouse known as LDJ5 during the week of April 25.

The news comes as thousands of Amazon workers at a larger warehouse across the street on Staten Island are getting ready to vote next week on whether or not to join the union.

That election, which starts March 25, will be the second warehouse-wide election for the company in the country.

In a statement, Kelly Nantel, an Amazon spokesperson said, "We look forward to having our employees' voices heard in this election, and our focus remains on working directly with our team to continue making Amazon a great place to work."
