BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Police in Brooklyn have made an arrest in the death of a young girl who was hit by an SUV Tuesday night.

It happened around 8 p.m. in Dyker Heights.

According to police, the driver of the SUV crossed into oncoming traffic on 12th Avenue and made a left onto 67th Street where it hit 6-year-old Hiromi Tamy.

Investigators say she was in the crosswalk and had the light.

The girl was rushed to the hospital where she died.

Police say the driver, identified as Queeha Zhoo, 30, drove off but returned after traveling around the block.

He is now facing multilple charges including manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide.
