NEW YORK - The fashion world is mourning the death of designer Max Azria, who found great success bringing fashion to everyday customers.
Azria's family said he died of lung cancer in Houston, Texas on Monday.
He created BCBG Max Azria in 1989 as an alternative to more expensive styles.
The company later became one of the first commercial brands to show its designs at New York Fashion Week.
At its peak, BCBG Max Azria Group had more than 500 stores worldwide and generated over a billion dollars a year in retail sales.
Max Azria was 70 years old.
