Local lawmakers approved the city budget in a 46 to 3 vote.

The $112 billion spending plan comes after tense negotiations between the City Council and the Adams administration and is about a billion dollars more than the mayor’s proposed plan.

It includes $100 million in funding for early childhood education programs, a combined $111 million dollars to the city’s public library system and cultural institutions.

It also includes $2 billion to build and preserve affordable housing and $500 million for the city’s rental assistance program, known as CityFHEPS.

First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” to break down the budget and more.

"We really did the hard work and rolled up our sleeves to get to a budget that really delivers to New Yorkers," she said.
