Mayor Eric Adams joined Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Friday to discuss Tyre Nichols’ video, Hector LaSalle’s nomination and more.

In the wake of the death of Nichols, Adams said he wants New Yorkers to be outraged, but to express their anger peacefully. Earlier this month, Nichols, 29, was beaten to death following a traffic stop.

Adams said he got information earlier in the day about potential threats, and that the city was prepared to handle them.

“We as New Yorkers should know that in many cases people come from outside the city and they attempt to disrupt the righteous call for reforms, righteous call for peaceful demonstrations,” Adams said.

When it came to Hector LaSalle’s nomination as Chief Judge, Adams said he thought the full State Senate should consider LaSalle.

The comments are another sign that Adams continues to be an ally of Gov. Kathy Hochul just a day after she attended his State of the City Address.

“I think it should go to the floor and I’m hoping we can find a way to allow the full state Senate to vote for it,” Adams said.

After a state Senate committee voted no on LaSalle, Hochul said she’s considering suing to force the full state Senate to vote on his nomination.
