Black Edfluencers-United President Dr. Shango Blake commented on the state of the country and shared how it feels to see so many education rollbacks as a former educator.

He discussed the Black Studies curriculum that has been in the works for nearly five years, including who will be able to learn Black history in what schools in the city.

He emphasized the importance of young people learning Black history, saying it will help inform them of their own or their peers’ family history.

Dr. Blake also talked about the upcoming Gala to celebrate Black Studies and how to get involved.
