Chinese-American Planning Council President and CEO Wayne Ho joins In Focus to talk about the lack of adequate home health care for vulnerable, low-income seniors in the city. Founded in 1965, the Chinese-American Planning Council is the nation’s largest Asian American social services organization.
The council’s mission is to promote the social and economic empowerment of Chinese American, immigrant and low-income communities by ensuring they have equitable access to the resources and opportunities needed to thrive. The organization provides services to some 2,000 seniors.
With New York state having the nation’s fourth oldest population, Ho discusses some of the biggest challenges home care agencies face amid the pandemic and what needs to be done to get more workers to consider a career in-home care.
