STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Amazon has reached a deal to expand its operations on Staten Island.
The online retailer signed a new lease on a 450,000 square-foot warehouse on the West Shore.
A company spokesperson hailed the increased investment in Staten Island as a win-win, saying the new facility will serve as a delivery station to help get packages to customers quicker and provide hundreds of job opportunities.
The new warehouse sits next to the company's 855-square-foot distribution center, which opened in 2018 as Amazon's first major New York City facility.
