A new Bloomberg News documentary, “Can’t Look Away: The Case Against Social Media,” premiered last week on the platform Jolt.

The film details the mental health side effects young adults and teens experience from addictive social media algorithms.

The documentary, in part, follows the Social Media Victims Law Center and its work — including a lawsuit against Snapchat by families whose children died after receiving drugs through the social media platform.

Both local and federal lawmakers are calling for more regulation of social media.

Gov. Kathy Hochul and state legislators are also currently hammering out the details on a cellphone ban in this year’s state budget.

Matthew O’Neill, the co-director of the documentary, joined NY1’s Bobby Cuza on “Inside City Hall” Friday to discuss more.
