A 7-year-old girl who was struck by an SUV in Queens Friday evening has died, officials said.
According to the NYPD, a white Ford Explorer traveling eastbound on Newtown Road struck the girl at the intersection of 46th Street at approximately 5:50 p.m. on Friday.
The driver, a 46-year old woman, entered the intersection after not completing her stop at a stop sign, according to police. She remained on the scene after the incident.
Police say the child was hit as she was crossing from the northwest corner of the street to the southwest corner.
Police have identified the child as Dolma Naadhun, a resident of Astoria. She was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst after the incident, where she was pronounced dead.
As of Saturday morning, there have been no arrests, and the incident is under investigation, according to police.
