A former city traffic commissioner died Thursday of pancreatic cancer.
Michael Horodniceanu served as the city’s traffic commissioner under then-Mayor Ed Koch.
The transportation head was also the president of MTA Capital Construction, where he was in charge of all major transit projects from 2008 to 2017.
His funeral was held Friday in Queens.
Horodniceanu was 78 years old.
Phase one will launch on Sunday, June 29, and phase two will begin on Sunday, Aug. 31.
About 9,000 New Yorkers ride in the affected area every day, according to the agency.
