QUEENS, N.Y. — Police in Queens have arrested a man in connection to a shooting Thursday night that left a 19-year-old dead.
The NYPD says it happened just before 10 p.m. in Jamaica near 147th Place and Jamaica Avenue.
That's where officers say they found the teenager shot in the chest.
He has been identified as Cristobal Alfredo Ixquier Mejia of Queens.
Police say Shareese Smith, 20, of Brooklyn has been arrested and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
The NYPD says the investigation is ongoing.
