QUEENS, N.Y. — A deal to build a new $3.9 billion terminal at John F. Kennedy Airport has been approved by the Port Authority.
The new international Terminal 6 will connect to and expand JetBlue's operations at Terminal 5.
The project was originally set to break ground in 2020, but was put in limbo due to the pandemic.
It will now start next year.
The 1.2-million square-foot Terminal 6 will be built under a new, restructured deal.
The Port Authority says the development of the new terminal is expected to result in more than 4,000 jobs.
