QUEENS, N.Y. — More than two dozen people in Queens who are believed to be part of a gang have been charged in a massive indictment.

District Attorney Melinda Katz said 28 people are connected to violent crimes within the Queensbridge and Ravenswood NYCHA developments.

They are facing a total of 141 charges including murder, attempted murder and criminal weapons possession.

The DA on Thursday said it's a big win in the fight to clean up crime.

"Attorneys from my office and members of the NYPD's gun violence suppression division worked tirelessly to uncover these criminal conspiracies. We've focused our investigation on guns and gangs, have been a toxic combination for far too long; perpetrated by individual drivers of crime and violence," Katz said.

Each of the 28 accused face at least 25 years in prison if convicted on all charges.
