Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Thursday there will be no surge on congestion pricing during gridlock alert days.

Hochul said in a statement that she is eliminating the 25% surcharge that would have been activated on the city’s 20 gridlock alert days.

"We have spoken to the MTA and made it clear: under no circumstances will I allow this discretionary 25% surcharge on gridlock days to be used," she said.

Congestion pricing, which charges drivers to enter Manhattan below 60th Street, will begin on Sunday, Jan. 5.
