With the many entertainment choices New York City has to offer, it can be difficult to make a choice. Look no further. "On Stage" host Frank DiLella has curated a list of “must-see” shows this week, directing you to the best of Broadway, Off-Broadway and beyond.

"English"

The 2023 Pulitzer Prize-winning play "English" is now in previews at the Todd Haimes Theatre. Set in an Iranian classroom, this comedy centers around language and miscommunication. Opening night for “English” is set for Jan. 23.

“I'm Assuming You Know David Greenspan” 

On the off-Broadway front, six-time Obie Award-winner David Greenspan appears in a new solo show “I’m Assuming You Know David Greenspan,” now in previews at The Atlantic Theater Company’s Stage 2.

Greenspan takes on four millennial women in this comedy about how to make it as a playwright.

Under the Radar

From now through Jan. 19, New York City’s cutting-edge theater festival Under the Radar is back hosting shows all over town.

One of the productions Frank is looking forward to seeing is "Show/Boat A River," presented in collaboration with Target Margin Theater and NYU Skirball. The show is a reimagining of the Kern and Hammerstein “Show Boat.”

54 Below

Switching to cabaret, Broadway leading men Derek Klena and Bradley Gibson are set to do their solo shows at 54 Below.

Fresh off of “Moulin Rouge,” Klena will be at the club Jan. 7 through the 13 performing his new act. Gibson is scheduled to perform what he calls “songs from [his] heart” on Jan. 15 and 16.
