The Tompkins Square Park Halloween Dog Parade returned to Manhattan Saturday.

Dogs, and some of their owners, showed off their costumes and creativity as they walked along Avenue A from 13th Street to 7th Street.

The event dates back to the 1990s, when community members fought to get a dog run installed at Tompkins Square Park.

Last year, the parade was nearly canceled due to financial constraints from organizers, but went on to draw a reported 15,000 spectators to the neighborhood, according to Tompkins Square Dog Run.
