June marks Pride Month, and the city is celebrating with performances, parades and family activities. 

Here is a list of some of the events taking place starting this weekend across the five boroughs.  

BRONX

NYBG Pride 

The Bronx Botanical Garden celebrates the LGBTQ community's history and contributions in the botanical world.

The month’s festivities include salad mix demonstrations, music and a runway show. The gift shop features a selection of children’s books that celebrate pride. 

Pride Birding

The city’s parks department is celebrating with bird watching at Crotona Park. 

Park rangers will bring News Yorkers on an exploration of the park in search of birds featuring the colors of the LGBTQ flag on June 10 starting at 11 a.m. 

BROOKLYN 

Brooklyn Museum: First Saturday: Pride

The museum’s monthly “First Saturday” event, which admits New Yorkers for free, is celebrating Pride on June 3. 

The event includes art, music, teen talks and a pop-up market starting at 5 p.m. Registration is required and includes the admission to the museum. 

Brooklyn Pride Week

The event runs from June 5 to 17 on 5th Avenue from Lincoln Place to 9th Street.

The week’s festivities include an outdoor festival with dozens of performers, a comedy show and a 5K in Prospect Park. 

MANHATTAN

NYC Pride March

The 54th annual Pride March takes place on June 25, beginning at noon from 25th Street and Fifth Avenue. The procession will make its way to Chelsea, at 16th Street and Seventh Avenue. 

The grand marshals this year are Billy Porter, Yasmin Benoit, AC Dumlao, Hope Giselle and Randolfe “Randy” Wicker, with Angelica Ross returning for a third year as co-host.

Events in the week leading up to the parade include:

  • The Rally: The annual protest and activism event on June 17 calls attention to the bills needed to protect the LGBTQ community. 

  • PrideFest: The annual LGBTQ street fair includes exhibitors, food and activities on June 25 at Greenwich Village

  • Youth Pride: This free event for LGBTQ teens and allies takes place on June 24. 

QUEENS

Hands On History: Queer Pride & Possibility 

This free family program is an arts and crafts event where participants will design their own rainbow salt dough heart ornaments on June 3 starting at 1 p.m. 

Participants will learn about “Looking for Queer Possibility in the Museum’’ by Margaret Middleton, a booklet designed for LGBTQ museum visitors to learn about queer connections within the King Manor Museum. 

New Queens Pride Parade

The 31st anniversary of the New Queens Pride parade takes place in Jackson Heights on June 4 at noon and runs on 37th Avenue from 89th Street to 78th Street. 

The event is considered the “second largest” Pride parade in the city. It takes place within a community that is known for its LGBTQ history. 

STATEN ISLAND 

Youth Healing Workshop

The Pride Center of Staten Island holds conversations with youth on how to advocate for healing spaces. The free event takes place on June 16, starting at 6 p.m. and is recommended for ages 18-24. 

Drag Queen Bingo Brunch

The brunch will take place at Lacey’s Bridge Tavern on June 24, and includes music, bingo cards, drinks and one entrée. Must be 21 years old and up, and tickets start at $65.
