NEW YORK - A Manhattan judge has put the brakes on an expansion project at the American Museum of Natural History.

A temporary restraining order has been issued for the construction of the new Gilder Center for Science, Education and Innovation in Theodore Roosevelt Park.

A citizens group filed suit to stop the expansion.

The group claims the city wrongfully gave the museum the right to build without going through the appropriate land use review.
