The Whitney Museum will become free for visitors 25 years old and under beginning in mid-December.

The museum has already offered free admission to visitors 18 years old and under for more than a decade.

The expansion to 25 years old also follows the launch of the museum’s “Free Friday Nights” and “Free Second Sundays” back in January.

Those initiatives offer free admission for all visitors between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Fridays, and all day on the second Sunday of every month.

The Whitney said these initiatives have doubled the average attendance that it sees during paid hours.

Visitors will still need to reserve a ticket, even with free admission, according to the museum.
