MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Summer is around the corner, and one central Ohio city is preparing to keep residents cool all season long.

Mount Vernon announced Hiawatha Water Park will open May 24, and it will close Aug. 23. 

There are resident and non-resident memberships available, but if people sign up now, they can get the early bird discount through April 30. Memberships can be purchased here.

For those who prefer paper applications, they can be picked up, filled out and dropped back off at the Safety Service Office on the second floor of City Hall.
