NEW YORK - The L train tunnel repairs are moving along faster than anticipated.
Repairs to the Canarsie Tunnel began in April and an MTA consultant says the work is a month ahead of schedule.
Sources tell NY1 all the work could be finished within a year.
The original plan called for shutting down L train service for at least 15 months.
But in January, a group of engineers unveiled a new plan to keep the line running during renovations.
The MTA has been running reduced service on nights and weekends to allow crews to fix damage caused by Hurricane Sandy.
