NEW YORK - The Federal Bureau of Investigation is looking into an alleged fake marriage license scheme operating in Brooklyn.
William Jacobsen and his wife Marta Medvedeva were arrested Tuesday for allegedly paying U.S citizens $10,000 to enter fake marriages with foreign nationals.
They allegedly coached these couples so they would pass immigration interviews.
The two are also charged with making false statements in immigration applications.
According to a criminal complaint, the couple made about $30,000 from the scheme since 2016.
