At long last, it’s the weekend! Below, you’ll find a quick guide — based on information from the MTA — to the biggest planned service changes on the city’s subways and rails.

Subway service changes
4 trains in the Brooklyn
Between 1:30 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, 4 trains will not run in Broojlyn due to station work. They will run only between Woodlawn and Bowling Green.
Riders can take the 2 or 3 trains for service between Borough Hall and Franklin Avenue-Medgar Evers College.
Riders can take a 3 train for service between Franklin Avenue-Medgar Evers College and New Lots Avenue. The 3 train will be running to and from New Lots Avenue all weekend, including during overnight hours.
J and M trains in Brooklyn and Manhattan
Due to track replacement, between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, J trains will not run between Hewes Street and Broad Street in either direction, and M trains will not run between Myrtle Avenue and Delancey Street-Essex Street in either direction.
J trains will run between Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer and Hewes Street every 12 minutes during the day and evening, while M trains will run between Middle Village-Metropolitan Avenue and Myrtle Avenue.
Free B106 shuttle buses will run between Hewes Street and Delancey Street-Essex Street, stopping at both those stations and at Marcy Avenue. Anyone exiting the subway at Hewes Street or Delancey Street-Essex Street will need to get a GO ticket from a station agent to reenter.
In addition, Jamaica Center-bound J trains will run nonstop from Myrtle Avenue to Broaadway Junction between 4:45 a.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday due to structural maintenance.
Q trains in Brooklyn and Manhattan
Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, Q trains will not run between 34th Street-Herald Square and Kings Highway in either direction due to track maintenance.
Q trains trains will be running along two routes every 10 minutes during the day and evening, according to the MTA:
- Between 96th Street and 34th Street-Herald Square, skipping 49th Street in the uptown direction overnight
- Between Kings Highway and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue
Riders can take the D, N and R trains for service between 34th Street-Herald Square and Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center. N trains will stop at DeKalb Avenue all weekend.
Free shuttle buses will be running along two routes between Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center and Kings Highway, according to the MTA:
- Local between Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center and Kings Highway, making all Q stops between Church Avenue and Kings Highway
- Nonstop between Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center and Kings Highway
Shuttle buses will not stop at 7th Avenue, Prospect Park, or Parkside Avenue.
4, 5 and 6 trains in Manhattan
Between 9:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, downtown 6 and 4 local trains will run express from 125th Street to 14th Street-Union Square due to structural maintenance.
Riders can take an uptown local train for service to and from bypassed stations.
Since 4, 5 and 6 trains will share the express track in Manhattan, 5 trains will run every 20 minutes and 6 trains will run every 8 minutes during the day and evening.
7 trains in Queens
Between 5:45 a.m. Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday, Manhattan-bound 7 trains will run express from Mets-Willets Point to 74th St-Broadway due to track maintenance.
Riders can take a Flushing-bound train for service to and from the bypassed stations.
A and C trains in Brooklyn
Between 9:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, Manhattan-bound A trains will not stop at Broadway Junction due to station work.
Riders can take a Queens-bound A train or Euclid Avenue-bound C train for service to and from Broadway Junction.
In addition, during the same time frame, Manhattan-bound C and A trains will run nonstop from Euclid Avenue to Rockaway Avenue due to structural work.
Riders can take a Euclid Avenue-bound C or Queens-bound A local train for service to and from bypassed stations.
A, C and E trains in Manhattan
Between 9:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, uptown C and A local trains will be running express from Canal Street to 59th Street-Columbus Circle, and uptown E trains will be running express from Canal Street to 34th Street-Penn Station due to track replacement.
Riders can take a downtown local train for service to and from Spring Street and 23rd Street, and take the E train for service to and from 50th Street.
D trains in Manhattan
Between 9:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, downtown D trains will not stop at 155th Street due to track maintenance.
Riders can take an uptown train for service to and from 155th Street.
D, N and R trains in Brooklyn
Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, Bay Ridge-bound R trains and Coney Island-bound D and N local trains will run nonstop between Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center and 36th Street due to track replacement.
Riders can take a Manhattan-bound train for service to and from bypassed stations.
F trains in Manhattan
Between 9:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, uptown F trains will not stop at 14th Street or 23rd Street due to track replacement.
Riders can take a downtown train for service to and from bypassed stations.
F and G trains in Brooklyn
Between 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Coney Island-bound F and Church Avenue-bound G trains will run express between Smith-9th Streets and Church Avenue due to electrical work.
Riders can take a Manhattan-bound F or Coney Island-bound G train for service to and from bypassed stations.
