The FBI on Thursday raided the Bronx home of a top aide of Mayor Eric Adams, a spokesperson for the agency said.

Winnie Greco, who serves as the mayor's director of Asian affairs, has been placed on leave from her position in the Adams administration, according to City Hall.

In an interview with PIX11, Adams said Greco’s leave is currently classified as "sick leave."

A City Hall source said Greco experienced a medical episode as the raid was happening.

The source said the FBI called 911, and Greco was transported to a hospital via ambulance.

The source didn’t provide any additional details about the incident.

Once Greco’s medical leave ends, she will be placed on a different form of leave, and will not be performing government duties while the federal investigation is underway, according to the City Hall source.

Greco was already being probed by the city's Department of Investigation to determine whether she was benefiting improperly from her job at City Hall. It's also unclear if Thursday's FBI action was connected to the city's probe of Greco.

The mayor’s former top fundraiser was the subject of a separate FBI raid last November as part of a federal probe into whether Adams’ campaign received illegal donations connected to the government of Turkey.

Regarding Greco, City Hall released a statement, saying, in part, "Our administration will always follow the law, and we always expect all our employees to adhere to the strictest ethical guidelines. As we have repeatedly said, we don’t comment on matters that are under review, but will fully cooperate with any review underway. The mayor has not been accused of any wrongdoing.”
