NEW YORK — A man is dead after being stabbed multiple times at a subway station in the Bronx early Monday morning.

Police say it happened just after midnight on the mezzanine of the 241st Street and White Plains Road station in Wakefield.

Investigators say a verbal dispute escalated and the suspect pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the victim in the left side of his torso.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect fled the station.

Police say there was a witness to the attack, but so far no arrests have been made

Meanwhile, police are also looking for a man who they say assaulted an MTA worker at an F train station in Manhattan.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. Sunday at the Delancey and Essex St. station.

Police say the suspect argued with an MTA cleaner who said he was not paying the fare.

They say the man punched the worker in the face and struck him in the face with a dust pan.

The worker's injuries were not serious and the suspect fled the scene.
