The NYPD surprised a girl on her birthday after a fire destroyed her family's home in the Bronx yesterday.

The two-alarm fire happened inside a three story building on 167th Street in Highbridge.

NYPD chief Jeffrey Maddrey said on Twitter yesterday, “Join us in wishing Juliette a Happy 10th Birthday! Today has been a tough day for Juliette and her family. They were one of 15 Bronx families who lost their homes in a fire today. Officers from the NYPD CAB Rapid Response Team all pitched in to buy a cake for Juliette.”

11 residents suffered minor injuries in the fire and four were taken to a local hospital.  Two firefighters were also taken to Jacobi Hospital with minor injuries.
