President Donald Trump’s recently signed an executive order, which includes sweeping changes to gender transition care and legal protections for transgender Americans.

Some of those changes include withholding federal funds from hospitals offering treatments to transgender minors, removing information about trans rights on state websites, and preventing people from changing their gender markers on passports.

Many New Yorkers are concerned about the impact of these changes.

Dr. Jeffrey Birnbaum, Brooklyn based physician, who has spent decades caring for transgender youth, joined “The Rush Hour” on Tuesday to discuss how patients and their families are impacted by these policy changes.
