Yankee Stadium on Friday evening returned to full-capacity attendance for fans for the first time since 2019.
The Bronx Bombers took the field against the Oakland Athletics without separate sections for vaccinated and unvaccinated fans. The move came after the state lifted almost all COVID-19-related restrictions earlier this week after New York state surpassed a 70% partial vaccination rate for adults.
Those who have received their shot are not required to wear masks, socially distance, or have their temperature checked at the game, in accordance with CDC and state guidelines. Fans who are unvaccinated are still encouraged — but not required — to mask up.
For the past several months, Yankee Stadium has also been a mass vaccination site and continues to administer doses during the baseball season.
Meanwhile, the Mets will return to full capacity at Citi Field on Monday in a double-header against the Braves.
A total of 30 MLB teams have now made the move to remove limits on attendance.
