A Manhattan jury has convicted the cousin of a mother who was killed last year and whose body was concealed for days before being discovered on the side of a Bronx road, prosecutors said.

Khalid Barrow killed his cousin, Nisaa Walcott, stole her money and used her apartment after the murder, according to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Walcott’s body was found in a container along a street in Melrose.

Barrow was convicted of murder in the second degree, concealment of a human corpse and related charges, Bragg said in a statement.

“Her death left a hole in her family that can never be filled, and my heart goes out to her loved ones,” Bragg said. “I thank the members of the jury for the time and attention they paid to the evidence in this deeply disturbing case.”

Sentencing is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 20.
